Luxepack - Monaco
As the cold Chicago winds started to roll in this fall, Alesha and Dave were happy to roll out to Monte Carlo for VinCenzo International's second annual appearance at Monaco's Luxepack. As the premier trade show for luxury packaging in Europe, Luxepack, which is held at Monaco's seaside Grimaldi Forum, is the quintessential trade show for VinCenzo's European team.

VinCenzo's European Sales Coordinator, Alesha Van Linda, chats with a group of convention-goers.
"Luxepack is a very important show for us," says Alesha Van Linda, VinCenzo's European Sales Coordinator, and she is right. Luxepack is a veritable mecca for cosmetic, tobacco, wine/spirits and specialty food packing, literally on the banks of the sunny Mediterranean. "All of our core industries are well represented at this show, and the caliber of packaging is really above and beyond." Just walking the aisles of the show, it is obvious; Luxepack is the perfect arena for VinCenzo to showcase all of the unique and exciting new products we've developed over the past year in the US and in Europe.
"It is also an ideal place to meet with new and existing customers," she adds. "My clients love this show because it is such a great creative environment, and that environment is only reinforced when they step into the booth. We have really come up with some innovative tins this year - totally unlike traditional tins more common in Europe.

This confectionery tin doubles as a candle luminaria.
Indeed, 2004's generation of tins runs the gamut of unpredictability. New tins on display at Luxepack included DVD packaging (DVD sleeves and slip covers, and new additions to our family of hinged DVD tins), tin Christmas tree ornaments, and cigarette pack tins with sliding covers. Popular features this year included acute corners, pillow lids, stackable tins, multi-level embossing and special varnishes. "Seeing all of these new tins, many of which show off our newest technologies and printing/embossing capabilities, is exciting. It really helps people to envision their own products in tin.
That creative environment comes just at the right time for many of our customers at Luxepack. They are finishing up with their holiday projects and starting to gather ideas and information for new products in 2005. "Tin isn't always the first thing people think of when they are designing new packaging. Especially in Europe, I find that people tend to think of it only for very specific industries," says Alesha. "But when the timing is right and the creative juices are flowing - like they are at Luxepack - and people see the work that we have been doing, I think it becomes immediately clear that there is a world of unexpected things you can do in tin."
Ahhh, the Mediterranean... one of southern Europe's most enduring (and endearing) symbols.
