In late August, Universal City saw the DVD Entertainment Showcase enter its sixth year. This was, however, the first year for its Entertainment Packaging Summit, a perfect venue for VinCenzo. "We've produced some extremely high profile media tins over the last two years," explains David Heeman, Account Executive, "and it was great to be able to show people face to face the work we're capable of."

Dave refers, of course, to recent projects like the Walt Disney Treasures DVD collection and The History of Sports, which, along with numerous other media and interactive projects, have served to cement VinCenzo's role as the leading manufacturer of innovative and unique tin packaging.

"The media and interactive industries are just starting to see the potential and the value of tin packaging. And while we're already familiar to companies like AGI or Ivy Hill, many of the people passing by have recently become familiar with this kind of work, and they think it's really cool stuff, but they had no idea how they could get it. So it's great to be here because we really stand out."

"On top of which," adds Karla Weiss, VinCenzo's other Account Executive in attendance, "this is great for us, because the people here are extremely knowledgeable and focused on the show. They maybe don't know we produced them, but they're already familiar with our tins. They've seen them all over Best Buy. What we can show them by being here, and what many of them have been surprised to find out, is how reasonable the costs of custom tin packaging are." "Especially considering the value that's added to the final product," adds Dave. "Our customers are finding that when you've got a unique, innovative package, it more than pays for itself. And here we can show them that we're always trying to think ahead in developing packaging."
What Dave refers to is the fact that VinCenzo's new media tins aren't limited to the ones currently in production or on the market. In an effort to always be anticipating the needs of customers, VinCenzo is regularly tooling and presenting new packaging concepts, such as the new DVD sleeve and slip case. "Customers aren't always as familiar with all of the capabilities of metal packaging as they are with other types of packaging," explains VinCenzo's VP of Sales and Marketing, Joseph Marlovits. "So anytime we can create something new and interesting and put it in somebody's hand, it really helps them to visualize the possibilities."

Karla goes on to say, "People in this industry know that unique packaging is becoming more and more important, and they come saying, 'I'm looking for something unique and original,' and, really, what better to go with?"
