Sales Support
Customer service and attention to detail have always been two of VinCenzo's hallmarks.  To this end, we've recently created a new Sales Support department, and coming aboard to act as the Director of Sales Support is our newest hire, Curtis Berry.
Curtis Berry, Director of VinCenzo's new Sales Support department.
"One of the things separating VinCenzo from other tin companies has always been the great deal of care we take in dealing with our customers," explains VinCenzo's VP of Sales, Joseph Marlovits. "We're constantly on the phone, returning E-mails at 2:00 AM, and trying to get them as involved in the process as possible." Naturally, this kind of attention takes a great deal of time and energy. "We wanted to create a team to complement the sales staff, whose primary focus would be to make sure we're communicating with customers as much as possible, to address all of their questions and needs, and to coordinate projects on the sales end so that everything runs smoothly. There was no question that we wanted was Curtis."
Curtis Berry comes to VinCenzo from Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company, where he spent four and a half years as a Marketing Manager, working on consumer promotions, retail POS and sponsorship activities. In fact, his first contact with VinCenzo was in this capacity, working with Joseph to create custom packaging for Natural American Spirit cigarettes. "We really had a great vendor relationship," explains Berry. "It wasn't a normal situation where you're like, hey, send me 500 cases of this model, and you hang up the phone. He was really interested in my project, and wanted to keep me involved every step of the way." Not long thereafter, Curtis joined VinCenzo. "It's exciting to get on board with a smaller company that's growing and moving forward." In fact, that growth is part of what precipitated Curtis' arrival.
"The time was right to add some people and support our customers more," he explains. "We're always in touch with the customers, overseeing artwork, making sure all of the details are taken care of so there aren't any delays. And that really dovetails into the goal of VinCenzo to be very hands-on in dealing with customers. You're always going to know what's going on with your project, and everything is going to go smoothly, you know, that's what you can depend on. Sales Support is here to do whatever we need to make sure that's the case." And that broad mandate is part of Sales Support's strength. "There are obviously some definitions to our duties, but we're not pigeon-holed. Above all we do whatever we can to streamline procedures, help sales to serve the customers better, and make sure they're getting great tins on time."
Michalena Lloyd, one of VinCenzo's familiar faces.
So, along with Michalena Lloyd, who also makes the move to Sales Support, Curtis is settling into his new role... as well as a new home. "I had a great time in Santa Fe, but it was time get back to the big city. And I'm... uh... looking forward to my first Chicago winter," he says, knowing full well that December isn't far away. The true Chicago initiation.
