Bathina by BeneFit
Cosmetics and personal care products always look great in a tin, and BeneFit Cosmetics recently turned to VinCenzo to produce packaging for two of their new Bathina products. "BeneFit is a funky, offbeat cosmetic company out of San Francisco," explains VinCenzo's Vice President of Sales, Joe Marlovits. "They're known for doing fun and sometimes outrageous products with unique packaging, so they came to VinCenzo to do something really different with two new product lines, a body balm and a bubble bath."
Bathina Body So Fine body balm and Enchanting Beauty Bubbles bubble bath clearly called for something out of the ordinary. "To create a unique look, we used transparent ink so that much of the luster is derived from the tinplate showing through the coating," explains VinCenzo CEO, Keith Armato. "Also, the customer didn't want the shine of a gloss varnish or the dull look of a matte varnish, so we used a special satin varnish."
The result is a striking sheen that perfectly suits Bathina. Also, the body balm tin features a pin hinge and tray insert, while the bubble bath tin features a sleek pillow lid. "The tins went through many stages of product testing before production," continues Armato, "and we have maintained very close quality control on the several runs we have produced. We also have to compliment the customer for matching the tins with equally great labels and folding cartons - and of course, a great product."
The body balm tin features a transparent ink finish and an insert tray for the product.
The products have been extremely well received. "They've had great exposure in both the U.S. and Europe, especially London," says Marlovits. "The products and the tins have had some great magazine writeups... Vogue, Mademoiselle, In Style, and a number of others. The body balm tin is actually going to be the featured product in the British Airways duty free catalogue." You can find them at Sephora, or anyplace that has a BeneFit counter.
